*A Yarn Junkie's Paradise*

Introducing the women who are here to help you:

Jeanne Shrader- Owner, Yarn Goddess, Fixer of Most Horrid BooBoos.

Jeanne is a true yarn junkie. She learned to knit as a kid and picked it up again about 14 years ago. After turning in her middle school classroom as a venue for teaching, Jeanne blissfully teaches knitting and other life skills from the comfort of the sofas.

Other Activities: (You mean there is stuff other than knitting?) Captain in the Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department, firefighter, driver-operator, EMT and head of Rescue 12. Wildly fond of her fabulous guy who is the head carpenter at KA, a certain new big black dog and medium sized goofy yellow dog. Jeanne loves to travel, run, bike, kayak and be with people who make her laugh. Recent accomplishments outside of the yarn store include finishing about 4 half marathons per year. Maybe you will see her on the street training for the Outer Banks Half in November.

Brittany Adoline- Yarn Slave, Bringer of Much Sanity.

Brittany started at Knitting Addiction in 2002, and has now been knitting since November of 2001! In addition to challenging garments, Britt posseses an astounding affinity for knitting socks (not nesasarily in finished pairs). Don't ask how many socks she has on needles; she won't own up to it anyway! A true renaissance person Brittany has a host of invaluable skills. She keeps us organized and her creative eye keeps the shop looking sharp. Need help picking a color scheme for your new project?-got you covered!

Other Activities: Britt spends the few leisure hours that she is not knitting or working hanging out with her furry kids, Emma and Mackenzie. They love to play at Hayman Park and splash around in the sound. Britt also gets a little time on her bike (the pedal kind, not the motorized kind- mom would keel over!). She's the official Fire Department photographer and the web person who keeps this all looking spiffy.

Purrl- Official Greeter and Self- Proclaimed Cat Goddess (is that redundant?)

Purrl is a charming gray cat of unknown origin. Once a starving stray, she walked into Knitting Addiction on a busy Saturday in 2001 and has spent the years walking all over our hearts. She is happy to be worshiped from a distance. Purrl offers approval on finished projects by sneaking a snuggle.

Don't worry if you don't see the furry staff member when you arrive. She spends a good part of the day snoring in a variety of sneaky hiding spots, but we promise she is doing well.

Other Activities: Chasing the random fly that gets in, block-hoping every display she can reach, and chirping randomly. A little begging for kitty junk food happens daily too.
